Privacy Policy
How Motion uses your camera, what it processes, and the control you keep.
Camera Access
Motion requires camera access only for experiences that use hand or finger tracking, such as Hand Tracking and Finger Object. The camera is never requested when you simply browse the landing page or other content pages.
When you open a camera experience, Motion first shows an in-app explanation and asks you to continue. Your browser then presents its own permission prompt. The camera only turns on after you grant that permission.
Data Processing
Camera video is processed locally, in your browser. Motion uses a computer-vision model (MediaPipe Hand Landmarker) that runs on your own device to detect hand and finger positions and draw the visuals you see.
Your camera video and the detected hand data are not uploaded, recorded, or sent to Motion's servers. Nothing from your camera leaves your device.
Cookies and Local Storage
Motion does not set cookies, and it does not use local storage or session storage to store personal data. Feature settings (such as opacity and colour) are kept only in memory while the page is open and are cleared when you close or reload it.
Third-Party Services
To run the experiences, Motion loads a few assets from third-party content-delivery networks:
- jsDelivr CDN — the MediaPipe tracking runtime used on the feature pages.
- Google (storage.googleapis.com) — the hand-tracking model file.
- Google Fonts — the Inter typeface used across the site.
When your browser downloads these assets, those providers receive standard request information (such as your IP address and browser type), as with any website that loads external files. Your camera video is never part of these requests. Motion does not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers.
Server Logs
Like most websites, the web server may keep standard access logs of page requests (for example IP address, requested URL and timestamp) for security and reliability. These logs never contain camera data.
User Control
You are always in control of your camera. You can:
- Decline the camera permission when asked — the feature simply won't run.
- Stop the camera at any time by leaving or closing the feature page.
- Close the experience to end all camera use immediately.
- Revoke camera permission at any time through your browser settings.
